Who is the Wasted Wanderer?

I travel not knowing my destination.
I walk among men as if I do not exist.
I cannot grasp what life has to offer.
I speak in a thousand voices,
yet no one hears the sounds I make.
There are many things that are beyond me,
things which I cannot comprehend,
concepts that elude me.
I search for answers to questions I still am unaware of.
I live my life as if I were in a dream,
not knowing when I’ll wake up.

I wrote the above lines while I was in the library, studying for an examination set for the following day. I can’t remember if it was my birthday when I wrote those words, but I remember that on the scratch paper I was writing on, I included a sketch and the date that day.

I started this blog on the 23rd of May, 2005 with the article Unang Hakbang, which was first written in my old Friendster blog. Writing the things that I observed, or found curious in everyday life was not new to me. At this point, the parched notebook that I had been writing on is empty of free pages. I’ll be writing here from now on. Since the Friendster blog format is similar to WordPress, migrating wasn’t difficult.

In general, it should be noted, that when I was writing these articles, I was feeling very wasted; which is either very melancholic, or very much inspired. In every instance, most of what I’ve written, I’ve written without pause, just letting the words wander through. Hence, the term “wasted wandering”.

But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet, Tread softly because you tread on my dreams
