Or Not. And That’s Okay.

You’ve read it in a novel. You’ve heard it from a song. You’ve watched it from a movie. Or from that TV series you’ve been binge-watching for several days now. But most of all, you’ve been feeling it for quite some time now. With the way things have been going on with your life. Little by little, bit by bit. Until finally, you just.. stop.

You’ve stopped believing. You’ve stopped believing in love. You’ve stopped believing in ‘The One‘. Heck, you’ve entirely stopped believing that there’s someone out there for you. You’ve wrapped yourself in the belief that you are probably not meant to be happy in this life. That you were just meant for casual and shallow encounters with the opposite sex.

But hey, it doesn’t end there. Soon you’ll wake up one day, and look back at everything that’s happened to you, and you’ll laugh. Because suddenly everything makes perfect sense. You’ll realize that not ending up with that person was one of the absolute best things that could’ve ever happened to you. That if you had continued to cling on to your twisted fantasy, then you’d probably be living a life full of regrets right now.

So steel yourself, and harden your resolve. Soon you will meet the person who will make you understand why none of your past relationships worked. That someone who will never get tired of being with you. That person who will be a cut above the rest, and will stand beside you as you face every test thrown at you.

Or not. And that’s perfectly okay. Because of all the love lessons you will hear throughout your life, learning to love yourself is truly the greatest love of all. Remember; you can never give what you never have. And no matter how easy it might be to just give up, don’t. Don’t let go of yourself. Pull yourself together, because you are going to get yourself through this. Life will get better soon, you’ll see.

Or not. And that’s perfectly okay. Because at the end of it all, you will hopefully have realized that despite life’s ups and downs, it continues to go on.

So get out there, and get moving. Live a full life, and never allow yourself to be held back by the mistakes you make along the way. Sometimes you just got to learn to say goodbye to the past, and continue moving forward towards the future.

You’ve felt this way for far too long
Waiting for a change to come
You know you’re not the only one
And life passes you by
Don’t be wasting your time
