Back To Stair One

Even after 10 years of blogging, I find that I still have a lot to learn.

I started out with no regard for capitalization, punctuation, or paragraph alignment. As far as I was concerned, I was writing out my thoughts for anyone who was interested in reading my stories and opinions on a myriad of topics. This is clearly seen in my very first blog post.

I didn’t attend any formal training besides the years of formal theme writing introduced in school, but I had a knack for words. I loved to read, and it was only a matter of time before I realized that I loved writing as well. I started paying more attention to the books that I read, observing little details that I planned to incorporate into my own writing style. When writing fiction, for example, I learned to add an indentation to the 1st line of every paragraph. I also studied how other books presented a character’s dialogue, or how each character interacted with one another.

And not just with the style, but I also experimented with what I could write about. I wrote movie reviews, suspenseful stories, science fiction fantasies, and other genres just to explore my capabilities. And now, after 10 years of blogging, it looks like I’m going to be trying out some new things. And it feels like I’m starting from scratch once again.

But it’s kind of exciting, actually. That’s the fun part of living. We always have a chance to turn things around. And you always have the opportunity to start over, and live the life that you want.

Recently, I purchased a domain for my blog, and changed the blog name from Wasted Wandering to The Wasted Wanderer. If you check out the old address for my blog, it will give you the link to the new address. I also created a Twitter page for my blog, in addition to my already active Facebook page. Compared to 10 years ago, this is a really exciting time to be online.

I may have missed a few opportunities for growth back then, and that’s okay. Every event that has happened before was in preparation for what is yet in store. All that I have learned from my past experiences, I will take with me as I keep moving forward towards the future. I’ll start again from the first stair, and steadily move my way up.
