Wow. 10 years. TEN. YEARS. That’s how long I’ve been blogging!
I’m still amazed at how the years have gone by. A lot has changed since my very first post, all those years ago.
Well for one thing, the blog theme that you see right before you isn’t the one that I started out with back in 2005. And oh, I should really bring this out first; I didn’t start blogging in WordPress. I started out using the blogs feature offered by Friendster. Remember Friendster? Haha. “Hashtag Generation Gap” right there.
So when I tried out Friendster Blogs, I chose the first theme that made me feel nostalgic, and relaxed. The theme was called “MistyLook”, and it also became my theme of choice when I migrated all my posts to WordPress. I think that decision was due to me wanting to take my writing to a wider audience. That, or I wanted a blog that didn’t end with “friendster.com”. Eventually, I changed themes, choosing this time “Misty Lake”, the upgrade to MistyLook. And now, well.. let’s say out of all the new themes that I’ve tried out, I think I’m liking this “Quintus” theme.
The way I write my posts also changed through the years. Yes, I still write what immediately comes to my mind, letting my words flow freely. But ten years ago, I didn’t bother with capitalizations, spellchecks, or paragraph alignments. As I continued to write more and more, however, I became more passionate with making my work look like you we’re reading them from a book. Hey, I’m still holding on to that “my-own-published-book” dream of mine.
OH. I nearly forgot! Of all the many changes this blog has seen, the first thing that I should have probably mentioned is that I’ve purchased MY OWN DOMAIN! http://wastedwanderer.com is now ONLINE! :) A few months back, I was wondering whether to 1) get a domain, or 2) create a Facebook page. I chose the latter. But a month (or two?) ago, when I first realized that Whoa, this blog will be 10 years old, I decided that for such a monumental event, I should do something monumental as well.
There’s a few other changes that I want to try out in the coming days; it’s an exciting new frontier.
To everyone who has kept on reading (and re-reading!) each of my articles, poems, and short stories, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It’s a good feeling, knowing that I was able to provide a positive influence to you, my readers. And it’s wonderful how in a way, I get to share with you a part of myself, including whatever life experiences that have helped shape me into who I am today.
The road is long and winding, and the journey is unending. But it don’t look like I’ll ever stop my wandering.
