It was indeed, the most beautiful sound he’d ever heard.
He could probably spend days listening to it, and never get tired of hearing it. He could be forever lost in that moment, and yet he’d feel no need to return back the way he came from. As far as he could tell, this rapturous feeling was the closest to heaven that he’d ever felt. He could not bear it in his heart to depart.
But alas, like all bittersweet events, this melody was not his to keep. He was only meant to appreciate it from afar; he was never meant to be with it. He could wait for countless hours, only to find that the music had long stopped playing. He could find himself every day standing at the very precipice of joy, only to realize that he would never take the leap. He could chase after it, but doing so would be pointless, given the circumstances. Nor would he dare steal someone else’s song; it was simply not in his nature. The most he could do was simply enjoy that moment, while it lasted. For he knows that one day soon, he will again find himself waking up to the sounds of silence.
All was quiet now, save for the lonely hum of monotony.
All of the things that I want to say
Just aren’t coming out right
I’m tripping on words, you got my head spinning
I don’t know where to go from here
